Blasting and Coating
Custom’s Clemco blast room allows blasting of steel fabrications up to 24’ wide, 60’ long, and 16’ tall. The state-of-the-art Clemco Hopper Recovery System removes surface contamination, scale, and other impurities. Steel shot, glass bead, and other blasting media based on customer specifications are used to prepare material surfaces for painting or shipping.
Our coating application specialists hold a Level II certification from the SSPC (The Society for Protective Coatings), the highest certification offered. Custom’s team of professionals takes pride in providing high quality coating service to even the most stringent of customers. We use eco-friendly, EPA-approved paints in all of our finishing operations. Our painting cell is equipped with two large EPA-approved downdraft paint booths: 26’ wide, 59’ long, and 15’ tall and 24’ wide, 45’ long, and 20’ tall.
Surface Grinding
Custom offers multiple styles of large scale surface grinding for a variety of materials. We use Blanchard grinding to provide an excellent quality finish that will meet your exact specifications. Our skilled operators are able to provide precision flatness and parallelism to dimensions of .001” and thickness to +/- .0005”.
